About Us

Black Earth State Bank was organized in 1904 with 20 shareholders and $12,000 of capital. The original charter was signed October 15, 1904, and the first day of business was November 12, 1904.

The original bank was located one-half block south of the current bank facility and was constructed by A.A. Mickelson & Co. at a cost of $1,285.87 including the lot. In 1922 a new bank facility was constructed at the corner of Ray and Mills Streets to the east of the current bank facility. Then in 1993 the move was made to the new current location at 1030 Mills Street across the street from the 1922 structure.

Black Earth State Bank is an independent community bank with local ownership and management. It is our intention to remain independent and strive to be "Your Personal Bank".
